This fee is applied by the finance provider whenever a scheduled Direct Debit payment is not successfully collected on the agreed date 
We know that managing payments can sometimes be challenging — whether due to timing or bank-side issues. In these cases, the finance company applies a default fee to cover the cost of the failed collection and their administrative processing.
Important: This fee is set and charged by the finance provider — our brokerage has no involvement in applying it, and we do not profit from it in any way. 
To resolve this fee, you'll need to contact your premium finance provider. They handle your monthly instalments and will be able to assist you further.
If you purchased your policy before 17 November 2025, your premium finance is with Close Brothers Premium Finance. You can call them on 0333 321 8566.
